open to help

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.

Those are the first few words from a poem written by John Donne, an English poet and pastor from the 16th Century.

You must have heard the first five words at some point: no man is an island. It’s a worthy saying and many at times, people relate it to solitude but today, I would like to think that Donne’s words could also refer to the fact that we need each other to be complete.

No man can make it on their own. No man can go through this journey of life on their own. No man can be whole on their own.

We need helping hands and we must be open to that truth. You won’t become less of a success if someone held your hands along your way to the mountaintop.

Whatever you do, be open to help.
