a journey around the world (and sun)

As the Nigerian government restricts flights from Brazil, India, and Turkey, all adults living in France can now book vaccination appointments

As French adults fall in line to get their vaccine shots, 102 Iranian cities are now classified as Covid-19 red zones

As Iranians grapple with rising Covid-19 numbers, my Nepalese colleagues feel overwhelmed by you-know-what and blame their prime minister (who was almost ousted this week) for their current dire situation.

As the Nepalese prime minister recovers from the mess of the past week, Kenyans are worried about limited vaccine supply

As Kenyans wonder if there’ll be enough vaccines to go around, the Brazilian supreme court is investigating their government’s inadequate pandemic response.

As President Bolsonoro is being probed, British residents are hugging each other again.

As physical distancing becomes a thing of the past for the Brits, my Argentinian friend is looking to migrate to next-door Uruguay because of the drastic nature of her country’s healthcare system and economy.

As my friend waits for her Uruguayan permanent residency, fully vaccinated individuals in the United States can now get rid of their masks for good.

As Americans go maskless, Indians simply can’t.

As the world comes together to help Indians, Canadians are…well, Canadians—we’re doing what we can with what we have.

As I restart my journey around the sun, I’m grateful that, despite everything going on around the world, I’m still here, and you’re still here.

I assume you’re grateful as well.

So, if you can, join me in expressing our collective gratitude by helping folks who could use some support right now.
