yikes, a lot happens in a year.
It’s May 1st, 2021 — do you know what that means?
Of course, you don’t. So, I’ll just type it out:
It’s exactly one year since I impulsively wrote an article about the word ‘Later’ and shared it in a letter to a few hundred people on my mailing list.
To make matters worse, I signed off that letter with this statement ‘See you on the 15th’ — and with that signoff, I committed to sharing another letter two weeks later.
So, I did just that, and then I did it again. And again, and here we are, 25 letters (and 12 giveaways) later, but I still have no clue what my goal is with these letters.
Chances are, you were one of the good folks on that initial mailing list. Otherwise, you signed on sometime in the past year. Whatever the case may be, I want you to know that I’m grateful for you.
These letters are about nothing. They are a snapshot of my thoughts at specific points in time.
They are not a medium for promoting products or an opportunity to sway your mind to the left or right. They are just unfiltered thoughts about nothing.
And as an introvert, I appreciate having space to just…share.
So, thank you for being on the receiving end. Thank you for reading, replying, sharing, and, involuntarily, participating in my cheap giveaways.
Writing that first letter wasn’t the first time I started something without fully thinking it through. And although I still haven’t thought these letters through, I intend to see them through somehow.
I’m learning to finish things, more often and better than I start them, which means being more thoughtful about next steps.
I don’t know what the next 24 letters will look like or if they’ll even ever exist.
This letter was originally shared as a newsletter. You can sign up to receive letters like this one on a biweekly basis here.
